Port of Tacoma GIS Manager Jennifer Radcliff and NorthSouth GIS LLC GIS Solutions Architect Eric Patrick presented a paper entitled ‘Improving Port Security by Providing GIS Benefits to All Stakeholders’ during the GIS for Port Management session at the 2014 Esri International User’s Conference in San Diego, California.
Abstract: “The Port of Tacoma was awarded a security grant to develop their Enterprise GIS for the purposes of improving Port Security. In order to obtain current operational data for Security users, GIS data, tools and viewers were also developed for non-Security departments to create an incentive for them to keep data up to date. This resulted in an accurate and sustainable common operating picture for Security while simultaneously empowering other departments through their participation in GIS.”
